Gabe Newell talks about Valve’s history and approach for an hour in new video

Friday, 1st February 2013 11:38 GMT By Dave Cook

Valve founder Gabe Newell has given an hour-long lecture about his company’s creation, the state of the games industry and insight into its various games and tools. Newell discussed all of this and more at the Lyndon B. Johnson School of Public Affairs at the University of Texas yesterday, and it’s a very interesting chat that touches on the issue of productivity in the PC market and the shipping of the original Half-Life.

Thanks PCGamesN.

@4 here’s some beard taxonomy for you if you’re interested. Nothing wrong with the epic beard. And as he’s sitting on a system with 50million users with between 3-6million concurrent users, I think he’s doing ok and steambox will do ok too. Oh, and are you pcplayboy too?

@4 You would think people would have better things to do with their time than insult people’s appearances… but they choose to act like inbred assholes instead… and these people think they’re ever going to achieve anything in their lives. Hah hah hah. I think not.
