“Better late than never” is a familiar adage to Mac gamers, and if you’ve been hanging out for an OS-X friendly version of Star Wars Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy, today’s your lucky day. The well-received 2003 action affair arrived on digital distribution platforms for Windows in 2009, but the Mac flavour has only now arrived in downloadable form on Steam, the App Store and Aspyr’s GameAgent. You can pick it up for $10, and will benefit from a whole bunch of bug fixes and modern hardware compatibility.

A game that was released a decade ago is still the only game that got lightsabers fights right. This is so sad, that we will most probably never again see a Jedi Knight game.

Imagine that in combination with the MGRising cutting method! Man, so many at Lucas Arts were sleeping this gen. O so many.

    @ 2 : Wow… most brilliant idea I’ve seen in a while.
Too bad Disney clearly indicated they will focus on mobile gaming (and probably not on consoles/big budget games).

I want a new Jedi Knight/Academy so bad… but yeah, it’ll probably never happen :(

I’ve been playing this in my lunch times at work. The lightsaber fighting is well… not as good as we all remember it :S
