Assassin's Creed 3 DLC hits Wii U this week

Assassin's Creed 3 players on Wii U will soon have access to much of the downloadable content available on other platforms.

Polygon reports Ubisoft will add a couple of DLC packs to the Wii U's eShop in this week's update.

The Hidden Secrets pack costs $5 and features most of the pre-order, retail and special edition bonuses. You'll receive the Ghost of War, Mayan Ruins and A Dangerous Secret mission threads; the Redcoat and Sharpshooter multiplayer characters; and the ship's captain and Colonial Assassin single-player outfits.

The $10 Battle Hardened pack adds Coyote Man, Governor and Highlander multiplayer characters and the Charlestown, Fort St-Mathieu and Saint Pierre multiplayer maps.

Ubisoft plans to bring The Tyranny of King Washington over to Wii U in the near future.

Nintendo didn't mention the Wii U in its regular downloadable content update; something of an oversight.
