Epic Mickey 2: The Power of Two only sold 270k copies in the US

Disney's Epic Mickey 2: The Power Two only sold 270,000 units in the US by the end of 2012, according to a new report from The LA Times. Across a similar length of time in 2010, the original game shifted 1.3 million copies.

The game accumulated an average Metacritic score of 59% on both the Xbox 360 and PS3, whilst receiving a slightly higher score of 64% on the Wii. This obviously wasn't enough to gain much interest from players, who may have had an impact on the planned four-game series from Warren Spector.

As of yet, no announcement has been made on the franchise's future.

Disney yesterday revealed a Skylanders-inspired title. Named Disney Infinity, this multiplatform game will throw together a bunch of company favourites to compete with Activision's juggernaut. The newcomer will also utilise Disney toys and ship in June 2013.

Will this suffer the same fate as Epic Mickey?
