Borderlands 2 Gear Up event extended due to Xbox 360 patch issue

Borderlands 2's special weekend event, Gear Up, has been extended while Gearbox resolves a technical issue.

Gearbox issued an update to Borderlands 2 earlier today in advance of tomorrow's DLC release, Sir Hammerlock’s Big Game Hunt.

Unfortunately, Xbox 360 users reported download errors grabbing the mandatory compatibility patch, meaning they couldn't get online during the tail hours of this weekend's Gear Up event.

Gearbox has announced an extension, but has not yet made it clear if it applies to all platforms or just Xbox 360, and for how long the event will run; details are expected once the problem is resolved.

Gear Up offered players the chance to score various kinds of rare loot by playing online during specific hours.
