Amazon Instant Video now available on Wii

Amazon has announced the extension of its Instant Video service to the Wii. To utilise the service, you simply need to register your Wii with Amazon and then log into your account through the console. Before you start going on about the futility of value-adding a dying consoles, here’s a reminder that the Wii shifted 475,000 units in December 2012 – a fair few more than its successor, the Wii U.

Thanks, GoNintendo.

480p, No HDMI. The reluctant luddites bargain console of choice.

Or the cheap console for the kids bedroom.

You can pick one up for £30 if you look. Not bad with some of the gaming pedigree it has.

Anyone play Wii in 4:3? I just switched mine over to play Secret of Mana on the VC, because it looked totally wrong to be playing an SNES game in widescreen, but I have to wonder if playing regular Wii games in 4:3 makes them look better. I haven’t bothered to try myself, mainly because I’ve beat all the Wii games I currently own, but I’m curious if anyone can confirm that it looks better than 16:9.
