ESA, other video game representatives meeting with US VP Joe Biden today

US VP Joe Biden is meeting with representatives from the video game industry today, to hear more opinions on policy proposals regarding a violent video game study.

Representatives from the Entertainment Software Association, GameStop, Take-Two, EA, other game makers will be present, and several professionals which provide research on the matter will be part of the meeting as well.

Yesterday, Biden met with other companies vested in the entertainment field, such as Comcast and the Motion Picture Association of America. He also met with the National Rifle Association, along with sportsmen, women and wildlife groups.

A list of recommendations is expected to be delivered to US president Barack Obama by Tuesday, January 15.

According to a live blog of the meeting by Venture Beat, Biden told EA CEO John Riccitello that the White House isn’t “singling out the games industry.”

“Frankly, we don’t even know if some of things people think impact [violence] actually impact it,” he said.

Nope because AUS rating system is controlled by the government where the ESA and ESRB are not and the government can’t because it violates the first amendment.
