Double Fine considering purchase of THQ's titles - report

Double Fine is interested in buying one of THQ's licenses, according to chatter from a source close to the matter.

Over on Twitter, Distressed Debt Investing stated:

The post has triggered speculation that Tim Schafer's studio is looking at making an offer one one of THQ's up-for-sale properties. The question is: which one?

This isn't the first time Double Fine and THQ have mingled, as the publisher pushed Stacking and Costume quest on multiple platforms, so it could be that Double Fine is looking at where its properties stand given THQ's current situation, or it is looking to buy a license from them.

Saint's Row adventure game anyone?

THQ's properties - including licenses for Saint's Row, Red Faction and more - will go up for auction on January 22nd. Check out our report here.
