Activision's Bond titles pulled due to expired license - report

Earlier this week, Steam users as well as customers of Activision's online store noticed the firm's James Bond PC titles were missing in action. According to a report on NeoGamr, the reason the titles are no longer available for purchase is due to the license having expired, per a reliable source.

Activision acquired the right to make titles based on the James Bond license in 2006, and it wasn't set to expire until 2014.

The fist title released was Quantum of Solace in 2008 ad was followed by Blood Stone and 007 Goldeneye in 2010, and the PS3 and Xbox 360 port 007 Goldeneye Reloaded in 2011.

The latest title in the series, 007 Legends, was developed by Eurocom and released in 2012.

EA was the previous license holder of the gaming series.

We've sent a mail to Activision to confirm the information, and will update you when someone gets back with us.
