The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct trailer is unofficial

By Brenna Hillier, Thursday, 3 January 2013 04:24 GMT

A quick, moderately embarrassing update: it turns out yesterday’s trailer for Terminal Reality’s shooter The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct wasn’t an official Activision production.

The publisher confirmed with GiantBomb that it’s a fan edit put together from bits and pieces of an in-development build shown to IGN.

The hosting YouTube channel is not officially affiliated with the game, either. I should have twigged to that. It’s a fair cop, gov. On the bright side, the trailer has had a lukewarm reception, to put it politely, so knowing it’s not the real deal is somewhat comforting.

Survival Instinct is due in 2013 on PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, and is a prequel to the TV show following the adventures of Daryl and Merle Dixon.

Whoops

  • Halo logo shown in place of UN's during BBC report

A bit of a wince and a giggle out of the UK to kick the morning off; during a report on the ongoing struggles in Syria, BBC News accidentally flashed Halo’s UNSC logo in place of the United Nation’s. Naturally it was captured and YouTubed; check it out through the break.

  • Video - Youth plays MW2 for 17 hours straight, goes mad

There’s a video after the break of a kid who can’t “get into” Modern Warfare 2, despite playing it for 17 consecutive hours. He’s “upset”. We won’t spoil it for you. Take a look. Thanks, Simon.
