GameStick hits Kickstarter goal within 24-hours
GameStick, PlayJam’s portable Android games product, has reached its Kickstarter goal within 24-hours. The Android-based system has 1,091 backers who have pledged $102,529 toward its $100,000 goal – and there’s still another 28 days left on the project. Other than a sincere thank you from the developers, as of press time new stretch goals haven’t been announced, so keep an eye on the Kickstarter page for more information.

Why is mobile gaming becoming such a big deal? I’ve toyed around with so many titles on my phone and i just can’t get into it.. I guess everyone has their poison.

@1, this isn’t a mobile gaming platform, it’s supposed to be cheap and easy tv/console gaming.

Yeah i get that, but it’s based on Android, and the hardware specs are geared exactly like a phone. And the stick is tiny because it’s meant to be moved. I think the only difference is there’s no touchscreen.

@3, a device that needs a TV to run is inherently not mobile.
Is an HTPC built with laptop components a laptop?
