Final Fantasy 14: A Realm Reborn instanced dungeon footage released

Final Fantasy 14: A Realm Reborn’s alpha has produced plenty of gameplay footage, but this new one doesn’t just wander through pretty environments, giving a proper look at combat instead.

Below you’ll see a group of heroes tackling the Tam-Tara Deepcroft, an instanced dungeon.

Bear in mind that, as usual, this alpha footage isn’t necessarily representative of the final game. That said, the overhauled MMO is looking much better than its previous incarnation. A Realm Reborn is expected to launch early this year, on PC and PlayStation 3.

Thanks, IGN.

Looks very much improved, looking forward to giving the beta a go.

fucking terrible players CLICKING on buttons. worst players – ever. Learn to keybind. this is specifically targetting MMO’s.

…Yeah right.. Anyways, they specifically did it this way to demonstrate mouse and keyboard functionality. In a few weeks I’d expect a controller demonstration next.

@2, He is just showing button capabilities (abilities demonstration). He is playing with keyboard obviously.

Anyway, game is crap and you can’t do anything about it. You can change the UI. Engine is done and gameplay is clunky and requires a lot of running and it feels just clunky for a next gen mmo or even current one.

Square Enix failed. Even with the update.

Assuming you did not play in the Alpha testing period.. I can tell you right now I’ve played it on an outdated laptop, and that clunky gameplay you’re talking about, it was not there.

The game is not even in its Beta stage yet. You’re not just saying, you’re downplaying..
