Elite: Dangerous reaches Kickstarter goal with 51 hours to spare

With 51 hours left on the Kickstarter clock, Fontier Develpoment's Elite: Dangerous has reached its £1,250,000 goal.

So far, 21,076 backers have pledged £1,256,026, which provided the firm with reason enough to add new Stretch Goals: should the project hit £1.4 million, a Mac version will be released within 3 months of the initial Windows launch; should £1.5 million be reached, and additional 10 playable ships will be added to the initial 15.

A new £25 Reward Tier was also added which provides pledges with a digital copy of the game and 500 credits to the default starting option. Those who have already pledged above this level will automatically receive the 500 credit starting bonus.

A printed star map for the game has also been added to the £90 Premium Box Set Reward Tier.

Finally, a new bit of concept art was added to the page.
