Sega announces Virtua Fighter 5 tournament for 2013, game app hits iOS

Virtua Fighter 5 is getting an official one-day tournament in 2013, dubbed 'Sega Cup: Virtua Fighter Tournament' It takes place in California and is open to all challengers.

The tourney will kick off on April 20th at the Super Arcade in Walnut, California, and focuses on Virtua Fighter 5: Final Showdown, which was released on PSN and Xbox Live earlier this year. Participants will specifically play the PS3 build when competing. Cash prizes will be doled out to those placing in the final top 16.

The announcement comes as Sega launched it's official Virtua Fighter 5: Final Showdown digital guide on iOS. It contains character bios, general fighting tips and character-specific strategies.
