Funny, no? AusGamers reports that The Showdown Effect has been inspired by action move cliches, and throws heroic stereotypes into a range of weird and wonderful arenas to do battle with an arsenal of firearms, melee weapons, jetpacks and kitchen utensils. It's fast and rather brutal by the looks of it.

Arrowhead is now accepting beta sign-ups over at the official The Showdown Effect site. No beta date has been given, but the game is due out on PC at some point in 2013.
