Close to 1,000 Ludum Dare entries now available for download

The 25th Ludum Dare game jam is close to complete which means lots of free games for you, the consumer.

Although at time of writing participants still have 20 hours to complete their entries, many have already been uploaded to the challenge's official website, where you can grab them for free.

This year's theme was "You are the villain". There are almost 1,000 entries available across the casual and competition categories.

Ludum Dare takes place several times a year and gives lone developers just one weekend to create an entire playable game; players then vote on their favourites, although there are no prizes or rewards. Many professionals take part; Minecraft creator Markus "Notch" persson isn't one of them this year, but you can check out his last entry.

Thanks, Polygon.
