Far Cry 3 PC patch 1.03 now live, updates listed

Far Cry 3 has received a small PC patch courtesy of Ubisoft. Get the list of scant changes and download the patch for yourself below.

General fixes for the patch:

  • Added Russian and Czech language support for Steam versions.
  • Fixed issues for machines that have more than 32 cores.
  • Fixed issues for activation keys bundled with ULC privileges. ULC content will now unlock during activation.
  • Improvements to playlists and rotation for User Made maps.

@5 Yeah, the Titan computer has almost 300,000 cores. 32 cores wouldn’t even make a blip on the TOP500

Unless you put together couple of cpu I really don’t know how you can get 32 cores.

One of the BF3 devs (@Repi on twitter) had crashing issues with the game when he got it. Turns out the game didn’t support the 32 cores from his dev machine.

The guy is in charge for doing the graphical part of Frostbite 2 at DICE, so he’s got quite a monster setup. When the game started crashing, the devs answered it was because of the hyperthreading on his CPUs causing his computer to have 32 cores (16 real ones and 16 virtual ones) and crashing the game, even though the engine is supposed to support more than that :)
