The Last of Us given a May release date during VGAs
A new video for The Last of Us was shown during the 2012 VGAs this evening, and what pleased folks most – other than the really nice trailer – was the announcement that the game would release in May. Speculation of a spring 2013 date appeared earlier this week, when Walmart listed the period when opening up pre-orders for the Naughty Dog title. At the end of the trailer, a May 7 date was shown. The crowd, literally roared in excitement. Sony has said more The Last of Us news will be posted on the PS Blog Sunday evening. Watch the trailer below.

Fuck, I just noticed. May = Rockstar Release Month.
Alan Wake = An amazing game killed by RDR. This is not good. I really REALLY don’t want to see The Last of Us killed by GTA5.

Bad timing indeed but I wouldn’t compare it to the Alan Wake situation. Folks are craving for the next Naughty Dog game, that wasn’t the case with Remedy.

Actually that WAS the case. While the final game disappointed many people (Not me), it was the new game from creators of Max Payne 1 and 2. Remember the insane rumors, great presence at E3 of the year before release? It all went to hell the moment Rockstar marketing machine started for RDR in winter.

This is my most anticipated game on the sony side of things, i hope it doesnt get delayed, may cannot come soon enough, although iam not that interested in GTA, unless there is a radical change with a mix of saints row and sleeping dogs.
