G4 rebranded as Esquire Channel, launches during first half of 2013
G4 will be turned into the Esquire Channel during the first half of 2013, according to the Hollywood Reporter. Owners NBCUniversal and Hearst will use the channel to court the untapped “metrosexual” demographic with shows devoted to “cooking, travel and fashion,” and some gaming-centric offerings as well. G4 staples Attack of the Show and X-Play have been cancelled, and will no longer air past the end of 2012.

So basically, it’s gone and been replaced by an entirely different channel altogether?

Am I the only one who thinks of the old Namco-game Metrocross every time I read the word “metrosexual”?

And we never have to talk about the channel again.

Can we get a real gaming/tech channel now? And wow the “untapped metrosexual” market? Wow. But hey that’s what the world needed was another channel devoted to cooking and fashion… only this one is aimed at ga…guys.
