Far Cry 3 patch allowing users to toggle most HUD/UI elements in the works

Friday, 7th December 2012 20:12 GMT By Stephany Nunneley

Ubisoft has said it is working on a Far Cry 3 patch which will give players the option to toggle most HUD/UI elements based on player preference.

According to a representative speaking with Kotaku, the upcoming patch was something taken into consideration after the firm received lots of player feedback on the matter.

“Based on feedback from both press and fans, the Far Cry 3 production team is working on a patch that will allow you to toggle most HUD/UI elements based on player preference,” the statement reads. “The patch will also avoid issues encountered in the .dll hack that might create a mission walkthrough break (missing QTE prompts, critical information, etc;).

“More news will be coming on the patch shortly.”

Polygon followed up with a Ubisoft representative who said the patch would “definitely be available on PC,” but isn’t “sure about console [versions] yet.”

The latest patch fixed some stability issues and balanced matchmaking, among other things.

Nice. I may wait for this to go through. Steph did they mention if it’s also for consoles? I’m enjoying this game a great deal. I turned the music off but the constant “drum” pounding from objectives, lvling up, and tutorials needs to go. Feel like I’m in fucking Jumanji whilst trying to get my hunt on.

@2 You know, I am not sure. None of the outlets mentioned any format specifically. Let me see what I can dig up for you!

    EDIT: That didn’t take long!

“Polygon followed up with Ubisoft to ask if the patch will be released on consoles as well as PC. The Ubisoft rep told us that the patch will definitely be available on PC, but that Ubisoft is “not sure about console [versions] yet.”

    Adding into the post now.
