The Speed Gamers announce 72-hour Mario marathon for charity

The Speed Gamers - a Texan gaming group dedicated to long marathons and charity drives - has announced its next endurance test fundraiser. It's a 72-hour Mario session that looks to raise money for American charity the Make-A-Wish Foundation. Check out their campaign video below.

The 72-hour session begins at 7 p.m. Eastern Time on December 14th and comes to a close on December 17th. The session will see the group tackling all of the classic Mario titles, the original Paper Mario, Mario RPG, and new games in the series such as Super Mario Galaxy.

Prizes will be given away to those who donate during the session, including download codes and a Wii U Premium, which should give even the most hard-pushed gamers incentive to donate. The group's previous mass-charity drive took place in June and saw them raising $59,324.36 for during a 168-hour Pokemon marathon.

If you'd like to donate to the cause, you can do so over at The Speed Gamers official site.
