Wii U firmware update now available

Nintendo has released a firmware update for the Wii U. No details have been released regarding the patch’s function beyond a reference to “system stability”, but Nintendo has advised that the 625 MB patch may take up to an hour to download, and warned users against powering off their console during the update.

Guessing this is a fix for the power off during download issues. Good that they got this out so quickly, but another 625Mb? If you want to fix the bricking of consoles which crash or lose power during downloads you might want to make that download as small as possible :)

Lol! That’s what I thought, poor Manu! O__o

We all need to chip in and buy hima generator for Christmas! :)

Mine was posted back for repair yesterday, I reeeeeeally hope they have the sense to install this update on the machine too! It would seem crazy if I got it back and still had to install this, would make me nervous! :)
