Company of Heroes movie gets first trailer

Company of Heroes is receiving the movie treatment, courtesy of UFO Productions. The studio has just released the first trailer for its WWII flick, complete with Vinnie Jones, gunfire and a rousing soundtrack. Get the details below.

You can watch the clip over at IGN, which sees the 101st Airborne Division battling to stop Hitler from using a secret weapon. It also features no dubstep.

What do you make of the clip? Does it seem to raise the quality bar for games-movies? Could this be one of few films to make the transmedia leap with grace? Let us know below.

Thanks PCGamesN.

That actually looks pretty interesting. I’m quite fond of the kind of movie it seems to be; and it certainly doesn’t seem to be the typical Hollywood game movie. I like that.

That said, I have no idea why it’s called Company of Heroes. Granted, I’ve never played CoH so perhaps it borrows actual characters or a storyline from it, but to me it seemed more like a pretty typical war movie. That’s not a bad thing, it’s just … I don’t know. I don’t really see why you’d want to make CoH into a move.

But hey, I got the game through the THQ bundle – perhaps I’ll find out when I actually get around to playing it. :D

101st Airborne? Neal McDonough? No thank you, I’ll stay with Band of Brothers.

Apart from that, the trailer was really bad. Hyperbolized American patriotism at it’s finest *eyeroll*

@2 That’s not “Hyperbolized American patriotism”. It’s indoctrination. :)

@2 I agree. It also looks too generic and unimpressive. No doubt having Neal on it is just a tactic to attract some BoB fans.
