Xbox Live Gold is free to all regions over this weekend, except in Europe. Find out why Europe has been given the shaft below.left out below.

Xbox Live Gold will be free in the following regions from now until close of play Sunday, 2nd December:

  • Argentina
  • Australia
  • Brazil
  • Canada
  • Chile
  • Colombia
  • Hong Kong
  • India
  • Japan
  • Republic of Korea
  • Mexico
  • New Zealand
  • Singapore
  • Taiwan
  • United States.

Each of the above regions can enjoy free multiplayer, the full range of Xbox 360′s apps suite, Kinect video functions and Internet Explorer.

On Europe’s absence from the list, Major Nelson said on his blog, “We alternate what regions are unlocked on a varied basis. It all equalizes out in the end.”
