Street Fighter Grand Finals set for San Francisco on December 8

Capcom has detailed the Street Fighter Grand Finals, the piece de résistance of the franchise's 25th anniversary celebrations.

The Grand Finals will be held at the Hyatt Regency SFO in Burlingame, California, on Saturday, December 8th from 10:00AM to 9:00PM. Admission is free, and Capcom is apparently expecting quite a crowd - the first 1,000 attendees to arrive will be rewarded with a swag bag stuffed with exclusive Street Fighter merchandise.

For those who came in late, this isn't a casual tournament; 45 of the best Street Fighter players from around the world will compete, having been selected through a series of qualifiers over the past months.

They'll battle it out for a $125,000 cash prize pool, but the Street Fighter X Tekken winner will also score a uniqueStreet Fighter 25th Anniversary branded Scion FR-S Sports Coupe.

There will also be finals for Super Street Fighter IV Arcade Edition, Street Fighter III 3rd Strike Online Edition and Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix.

For those of us less combotastic, there'll be plenty of activities and announcements throughout the day, as well as an art show and free play on all games, including Darkstalkers Resurrection. Street Fighter producers Yoshinori Ono and Tomoaki Ayano will be available for signings and photos, too.
