Planetside 2 Australian server issues diagnosed and resolved, says SoE

Planetside 2's locally-hosted Australian server, Briggs, went through some marked teething troubles, but Sony Online Entertainment is confident any server-wide issues have now been resolved.

In a lengthy forum post, SoE staffer Veratu explained why it took the company three days to nail down issues with the Australian server.

In summary, Briggs was affected by a global issue and a locally-contained issue which presented with similar symptoms, and suffered two separate provider-side issues, all of which were only noticable at peak traffic times - when international support staff were off duty.

Pulling shifts through a US holiday weekend, SoE was able to finally nail down and prove the provider issues as well as find and correct the local problem in addition to a worldwide hotfix, leading it to believe all problems should now be resolved.

Nevertheless, some users have continued to report problems, and SoE has asked any affected players to log a support ticket.
