Elite: Dangerous shows off multiplayer combat

Two ships twist and turn through an asteroid belt in the latest gameplay footage of David Braben's Elite: Dangerous.

This very early footage, released to Kickstarter backers, doesn't show the HUD or cockpit view - Frontier Developments isn't ready to to show that yet. Braben also notes that the ship trails are only placeholders.

Still, it's a good proof of concept, and Braben's narration over the silent gameplay discusses some features of the game's multiplayer; check out Dave's interview with Braben for more details on the developer's approach.

Elite: Dangerous is being crowd-funded on Kickstarter as a sequel to the classic 1980's release; it's expected on PC in March 2014.
