Black Ops 2: man plays for 135 hours straight, sets world record

Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 multiplayer is fun, but is it 135 consecutive hours of fun? Australian gamer Okan Kaya seems to think so, as he’s just broken the world record for longest recorded gaming marathon ever. Get the mad stats below.

Kaya played the game for seven days, and was allowed a ten minute break per hour of play, although he had the option of stacking breaks in order to take short naps and longer breaks. Although he managed to clock up an incredible time, Kaya is still only ranked 37th on the Black Ops 2 global leaderboard, which means people have still played it longer than him since it launched November 13th.

Regardless, it’s an incredible effort, although we’re sure he felt rather shit by the end of it. No pain, no gain as they say.

To be honest I find this counter productive, I love games, I really do, but this here ?!, what is this ?!, it seems so unreasonable to me, we have seen people dying like that, and it is not like he got paid for the strain he put on his body.

Ok, what the hell is so bad with this? He did it for a Guiness record, I don’t see as to why he is being criticized. I have heard people doing even weirder stuff for records. If anything, I congratulate him for achieving such a tremendous feat.

He’s clearly nowhere near the standards set by mature modern liberal adult independent uncensored free thinking artists playing the likes of Final Fantasy, Ico, Heavy Rain and Half Life.

400 hours of screen swirling, turn based battles and text melodrama. Now that’s how hardcore gamers spent their days.

Some records are just dumb. If he was allowed a 10 minute break each hour, & could bank them if he wanted, then he could have slept 2 hours for every 12 hours of play, or 4 in 24, 8 in 48, etc.

36 freaks have apparently been playing even longer than that, only without an official present, so what does this even mean?

I realize he could of died if he didn’t take breaks, but that only highlights the stupidity of even attempting something like this.

The person who wrote this and half of you are all retarded. The reason that he is only ranked 37th is because he obviously SUCKS AT THE GAME. The more kills and wins you get the more XP. There are no doubt 1,00s pf players much better than him. The ones above him in the leaderboard didnt play longer than him just better. WAY better. Dave Cook you couldnt be more fucking stupid.
