Wii U can play games from SD cards providing you have a USB card reader

Wii U users have found a workaround for enabling the console to play games from an SD card – all it needs is a USB card reader. Users can insert their SD card into the reader, and plug it into Wii U’s USB port, which treats it as a standard USB thumb drive. No word on how well the games play when using the workaround, but at least it’s doable. Thanks, Nintendo Life.

An SD card in a reader is indistinguishable to the system from a dedicated thumb drive. If games are playable from thumb drives, then of course they’re playable from SD cards in readers.
