Star Citizen: new footage goes from concept art to CryEngine 3
Star Citizen’s Kickstarter project and bespoke funding page have together surpassed $5 million in funding, and to celebrate, Roberts Space Industries has released a new trailer. The clip shows how a piece of the game’s early concept art was realised as a fully 3D environment using CryEngine 3. It’s all rather shiny and impressive, watch it below.

Look at the title of the video. Now look at the headline of this post. Where does the word “Trailer” come in?
It’s test footage. Treat it as such.

I just think “new trailer” sets different expectations compared to “new footage”. They indicate two different stages of development, and this is obviously way too early for any real trailer to be released. It’s not like this footage is trying to sell you the product, like a trailer would try to do.
But yeah, maybe that’s “splitting hairs”, but also it might be a case of a story being hastily thrown together as well?

Well tbh Strandli does have a point. But he could have been a bit more tactful in explaining it.
Also, about the movie.. cool!
