Deus Ex: Human Revolution movie signs Sinister director -report

Thursday, 15th November 2012 22:45 GMT By Brenna Hillier

Sinister, The Day the Earth Stood Still and The Exorcism of Emily Rose director Scott Dickerson will head up the upcoming Deus Ex: Human Revolution film.

Deadline reports CBS has signed Derrickson both to direct and write the script, assisted by C. Robert Cargill, who also co-wrote Sinister.

“Deus Ex is a phenomenal cyberpunk game with soul and intelligence. By combining amazing action and tension with big, philosophical ideas, Deus Ex is smart, ballsy, and will make one hell of a movie. Cargill and I can’t wait to bring it to the big screen,” Derrickson said.

The two are said to have played the shooter RPG start to finish before agreeing to meet with producers.

Deus Ex has not been dated. The film is being produced by Roy Lee (The Incident, How To Train Your Dragon) and Adrian Askarieh (Hitman, upcoming Kane & Lynch) will produce, with John P. Middleton as executive producer.

@1: Keanu is a solid call, even with the risk of Matrix comparisons.

I’m not quite sure what to think of all these videogame-to-movie adaptations that’ve been announced recently. They all sound good with noteworthy Hollywood people being attached to the projects, but I really find it hard to have faith in any of these films. Mainly, because of the history of videogame movies on the silver-screen. But none the less, I will say they all have potential, mainly this, as well as the Assassin’s Creed movie with Michael Fassbender *sorry if I misspelled the name, btw).

Actually, Id pick the guy who did the voice -Elias Toufexis – He could look like him in real life. Also, his real wife did the voice of Adam’s ex girlfriend so it would be perfect. Id like to see someone not so famous in the lead.

Pffffffff any old doofus with a beard could be Jensen we need Pritchard and Sarif actors stat.

    Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaadam.

I would go with Sam Rockwell for Pritchard, no idea for Sarif I don’t think anyone could do it well apart from the voice actor himself.

Actually this guy is Jensen : http://static.gamesradar.com/images/mb/GamesRadar/us/Daily/2011/02-Feb/04/Deus%20Ex%20Art%20Guy/AsIfWeWouldntNotice–article_image.jpg

That is a rather solid team. Sinister is one of the highest rated modern horror films on RottenTomatoes.com.

Also, as #8 said, the director is name Derrickson, not Dickerson.
