Black Ops 2 PS3 players irritated by faulty DLC codes

Activision might want to turn off the lights and lock its doors this week. Some PlayStation 3 users have experienced broken DLC codes when playing Call of Duty: Black Ops 2, meaning they can't redeem the Nuketown 2025 or Nuketown 2025 Zombies pre-order maps.

Angry users have congregated on the EU PlayStation forums, where many are airing their discontent.

Its seems some standard, Hardened and Care Package editions of the game are failing to download the codes. It is unclear whether or not these will grant access in time for this weekend's double-XP shenanigans.

Some users contacted Sony for support and were told their code had been redeemed in Germany.

Forum member The Bubonic Plague had this to say: "I rang Sony and they said that my code had been redeemed in Germany. Activision support tweeted me saying that my code should work. I don't know who to trust. I'm not bothered with double XP although it would be nice. I feel that £160 on Care Package Edition is now a waste of money and Activision are just milking it!"

Broken codes add to a hectic few days for Activision. Black Ops 2's release has stuttered with teething problems. From PS3 players experiencing freezing issues to the PC version including Mass Effect 2 as the second disc, it hasn't been the smoothest of launches.

The publisher has told players to remain persistent on Twitter as a solution is chased.
