Black Ops 2 takes out Amazon’s pre-order record

Online retail chain Amazon has announced that Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 is the most pre-ordered title in its history.

Amazon made the announcement via a bare-bones Tweet, saying Black Ops 2 “broke records” and is now its “most pre-ordered game ever”.

Pre-orders netted purchasers access to the Nuketown 2025 map, as opposed to the Nuketown Zombies map, which was added to the Season Pass yesterday.

The PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 shooter arrived on November 13; in some territories, it’s still launch day. The Wii U version arrives at console launch on November 18 for the US and November 30 in Europe. Reviews have been mostly warm; read Dave’s impressions of the multiplayer for a die hard Blops fan’s perspective.

Thanks, GoNintendo.

See? it doesn’t matter if this game was rehashed for the nth time. It’s evident that millions of gamers just want to play a decent FPS — one they can connect with their friends.

You know, I would actually give a COD game a try, but I’ll be damned if I’ll buy a game missing a map everyone else has. :p
