Black Ops 2 sold over 1 million copies at midnight launch, says GameStop president
Black Ops 2 sold over 1 million copies during its midnight launch at GameStop alone, the retailer’s president Tony Bartel told Bloomberg via email. Analyst Michael Olson, according to Gamespot, has estimated the game sold between 6.5 million and 7.2 million units day-one sales, which would rival Modern Warfare 3′s day-one 6.5 million units last year. The Infinity Ward developed title generated $775 million in revenue its first five days on the market, eventually hitting $1 billion in 16 days of availability.

How does that compare to sales of Halo4?
Just wondering.

#4 i think a fair comparision OG will be picking the 360 numbers only against halo 4, but that will be more difficult to have right away, due the conglomeration of the 4 consoles into one global number.

Does the analyst figure of 6.5-7.2m cover just the US, the US+UK or WW? Last year, Acti reported 6.5m UK+US in the first 24 hours (some sources put first 24 hours WW as 9.3m), so if that is a US only figure, it’s impressive, if it’s a WW figure, then CoD could be looking at a 20%+ drop this year…
