0x10c codes were handed out by Markus “Notch” Persson, in celebration of Minecraft reaching its 8 million sold milestone on PC. The way the codes were handed out though, was a bit tricky.
Said line of code, “69I960EHE0A4A0IVG0EHE02500R4R0G1T30PLJ00V6V0EHE0V1U01V10U5U0VGV0V4R” translated into binary, pointed to a URL on 0x10c’s website where users could download a .7Z zip file.
Using the password “MONTAUK” which is the codename for 0x10c, users were able to extract a text file with 1,000 codes for 0x10c.
Here’s what the file read, exactly:
“HELLO; 1000 CODES FOR 0×10^C WHICH WILL EVETUALLY BE RELEASED; PLEASE SHARE THESE WITH THE COMMUNITY; TO REDEEM ACODE GO TO ACCOUNT.MOJANG.COM; WE LOVE YOU”
All codes have been claimed, obviously.
