Curiosity: Molyneux asks for donations to battle server issues, PC version in doubt

Curiosity: What's Inside the Cube? has been hammered with server issues since it launched, and now 22 Cans head Peter Molyneux has asked for donations to help the team battle the problems. The developer has issued a statement on the matter. Meanwhile the touted PC version has been cast into doubt. Get the details below.

Eurogamer reports that the 22 Cans website has been updated with a PayPal donation button and the following statement:

"We are a small independent developer and due to popular demand we now offer the option for kind people to donate, so that we can make Curiosity the best possible experience it can be. However big or small the donation; it will really help us make Curiosity better."

Said server issues caused many issues for gamers, such as the images beneath layers disappearing, fatal crashes, lag and worst of all, participants losing a significant wedge of their hard-earned coins.

On the issue of a PC build of Curiosity, Molyneux spoke with Rock, Paper, Shotgun to discuss how the current workload and server issues are causing the six-strong team to focus its efforts on existing builds at this time.

He explained, “We would love to do a PC version, but we are currently snowed under by the number of people using the Curiosity experiment (coming up to one million ) in a few days. This is pushing our servers to the limit. We are currently all surviving on less than three hours sleep a night. I guess if we could find a publisher who could take on the work of a PC version we could consider it.”
