Wii U midnight launch being held at Nintendo World store in NYC
A Wii U midnight launch will be hosted at the Nintendo World store in New York’s Rockefeller Plaza for the November 18 launch in the US.
NOA president and COO Reggie Fils-Aime will be on hand to count down the launch and sell a new Wii U to the first consumer in line.
Fans waiting in line will get premium items while supplies last during the event. Nintendo will also be selling New York-themed T-shirts with Mario’s image at the event, with all proceeds donated to the American Red Cross in support of Hurricane Sandy relief efforts.
Wii U will be offered in two different colors and configurations at launch: the Basic Set in white for $299.99, and the Deluxe Set in black with a higher storage capacity, additional accessories and Nintendo Land for $349.99.
The console launches in Europe on November 30.

I would like some new york mario swag. I would buy that. But I live a few hours upstate from the city and going isn’t a possibility for me. Neat idea with the stuff they are selling for Sandy victims.

pffffff weaklings Triforce has been there since I think October the 21st. He had to go home because of Sandy but I believe his place in line has been kept.

Spent 10 mins with a WiiU this afternoon in Birmingham. Quite liked it tbh. The controller is surprisingly light, I thought it would weigh quite a bit, but it’s nicely balanced.
Played a bit of Nintendoland & checked out their panoramic world view thingy. The screen on the pad was decent too.
Gonna keep my eye on this.
