The Last Guardian – Yoshida “can’t promise” a 2013 release for the Team ICO project
Sony Worldwide Studios boss Shuhei Yoshida “can’t promise” The Last Guardian will launch during 2013, as he doesn’t want to get anyone’s hopes up by promising a launch window.

Speaking with JeuxVideo.fr, when asked if the long-awaited Team ICO title will release next year, Yoshida said: “No, sorry, I can’t say that.”
“The last time we talked about a date for The Last Guardian, we ended up disappointing many people. But I can say that the team is working hard on the project, particularly the engine,” he continued.
“It is precisely due to the teams working on the technical aspect of the game that we have nothing tangible to show you today. So now, I’m waiting for the right moment to introduce The Last Guardian, and speak with confidence of a release date.”
The Last Guardian was announced during E3 2009 for PS3.

this game is going to be like the crappy ps2 games with shiny graphics, that was on release date for the ps3… but this time it is for the ps4. 2-3 years after the ps4 release, this game is going to look shitty and have useless clunky controls, and people will forget all about it.

As long as they don’t betray their PS3 audience by moving it to PS4, I say they can take all the time they need. Everything Team Ico has done has been a masterpiece and this should be no different. If it’s the very last game ever released for PS3, then so be it. The system will go out on a high note.
Just don’t rush it and don’t move it to PS4.

You know they still release games on the Dreamcast in Japan?
Maybe this game will come out when the PS5 will be mainstream, but will still release for PS3.

the best for them to do is release it with ps4 as a day 1 launch title. Releasing god of war 4 so late is already a mistake too, shoulda delayed it half a year.

Now, God of War 4 can be a PS4 title, because they haven’t announced it officially. In fact, it’d be smart to make it a PS4 title, but this and Versus, no way. We were promised PS3 and I expect Sony (and Squeenix) to deliver on that if they want to keep their customers.
I have faith they will, because they do tend to release some of their best titles for a system once their system’s successor is already available in stores. I wouldn’t have bought a PS3 if they didn’t have a history of doing that. I remember how quickly Microsoft dropped the first X-Box once the 360 came out. I expect to still receive PS3 titles for two to three years after the PS4 is out.

They’ve had technical issues for like 2 years now? What exactly are they trying to do here?

This game will make the ps3 end in style, just like how god of war 2 was released at the end of the cycle, just after the release of the ps3.
