Injustice: Gods Among Us can display three times as many objects as Mortal Kombat

NetherRealm believes Injustice: Gods Among Us is significantly more technically advanced than 2011's Mortal Kombat.

As detailed in the video below, NetherRealm's engine upgrades mean Injustice: Gods Among Us's engine can display up to three times as many objects on screen as Mortal Kombat.

On top of that, the number of animated objects in a single screen is as many as in the whole of Mortal Kombat.

Both of these optimisations results in lots of destructible environments and special effects, but NetherRealm has also overhauled the lighting system for greater dynamism.

Injustice: Gods Among Us is due on PlayStation 3, Wii U and Xbox 360 in April 2013.
