VG247 appraised Halo 4's multiplayer in our very own opinion piece here, and found it to be a safe step for 343 Industries. While it doesn't necessarily evolve the franchise or innovate, it was still a solid proof of concept from the team, and shows that it has the development chops to handle this new trilogy well.
