EIGHT OUT OF TEN!?!?

NO WAI!!!

My take on the 8/10s is that Halo 4 doesn’t really do too much that’s new. It’s all-too familiar, a safe step from 343 to show they’re up to the task of nailing everything that makes the Halo series enjoyable. They’ve proven that with a solid – bit not innovative – game and now Halo 5 will be their true test.

Awful review from Eurogamer and Simon Parkin AGAIN!

How does this idiot even have a job?

He gives tiny paragraph to the multiplayer aspect, goes off on stupid tangents and fails to deliver answers to any of the questins that the fans wanted.

Bad review is bad.

It’s like Uncharted 3 & Gears 3 all over again. Why let someone review a game when they seem unable to grasp the basic premise or gameplay themes…

I used to trust Eurogamers reviews, now there a joke.

@34 I do agree with him that this feels more like an incremental CoD update than a big sweeping change. But as I said in my piece, this is proof of concept for 343 and they’ve nailed it. The big changes will come with Halo 5.

But it’s still one hell of a game

I get what your saying Dave.

His reviews just completly miss everything i wanted to know about the game though.

Everyone seems obssessed with saying how 343 have handeled themselves, which is obviously important, but much less important than discussing gameplay etc…

Multiplayer is washed over, hows Forge, are there really iron sights on all guns now?!, And, how does that effect gameplay? What are the new vehicles like? Are the weapons fun and completly balanced etc etc..

I hate reviews from Eurogamer on big name titles. They seem to think, people are going to buy it anyway, write any old shit and slap an 8 onto the end… Lazy.

Parkin’s widely regarded as one of the best game critics working today, which is probably why he has a job.

Oh I completely agree with you; which makes the relatively short thrift he gave the game in his review that much more odd.

I thought the piece was a bit woolly and lacking in specifics, but he’s a great guy and a good writer.

Im not blindly going to give him credit for everything he does though.

Jesus, get some perspective. It was a bad review, nothing to do with my enjoyment of the Halo series.

It left you none the wiser to a large number of important details,someone clearly likes the smell of his farts.

Check the Eurogamer comments section, a lot of people feel the same way.

This idea that as soon as you criticise something is because you have a hidden adgenda has got to stop.

It’s just a shitty review, thats all. Christ, it made IGNS look fantastic, and i never thought i’d say that.

Bear in mind I don’t want a ‘job’ in the industry. Im looking at things from an objective point of view and frankly, I think a lot of Simons reviews are awful.

If you assume people only get into their roles because of quality work, you are mistaken.

Our system of Government in the UK is a good example of this…

The EG review is a total joke. It’s badly written and really doesn’t say anything about how the game plays.

The only worthwhile articles on EG these days are digital foundry frankly. The rest is too far up the authors own asses to read.
