Neo Geo X will cost £175 upon UK launch
We’ve already told all about the Neo Geo X portable that comes at the heart of the upcoming Neo Geo Gold console bundle, but today European developer Blaze has revealed the official European price point for when the whole package launches.
£175/€199 will be the magic numbers on December 6, when the retro console releases worldwide. That’s a pretty big drop from the £500 price we were told earlier this year, but a welcome one nonetheless.
Eurogamer is also reporting that those who pre-order the console’s limited edition will receive access to the 1996 2D fighter Ninja Masters.
As previously detailed, the new Neo Geo set allows players to play a heaping of games over two decades old. It’ll come pre-loaded with 20 classic titles, with plans for further standalone releases to come if the system proves to be popular enough.

Hard to imagine that this will take off. If I had more cash in my bank I would prolly get one. But the 3DS costs the same amount, albeit without games. But still. As much as i love these old game, I would love to see new ones. Even if they made new games in the “Retro” style, I would be happy.
But buying these games at this type of premium price would be much like buying Namco, Capcom, Tecmo, Atari Classics in much the same way. Just too much money.
That being said the AES is one of my fav systems. But I think releasing this is a bad idea. Putting out these games as 3usd or 5usd individual releases on other systems would have made more sense. Hell most of these games are out for PSN already.

I was interested…but its not able to play the old cartridges so…NO! Too expensive. You can get a lot of these titles on XLBA or PSN.
