I’m only a hour in and i play very slowly, cause i check the details and explore around but so far i’m loving it. In terms of atmosphere, details, animations, graphics, it’s top notch. But i already fear for missions that probably won’t have seen much of a change. But we’ll see.

I’ve been playing it the entire day and the first 5-6 hours genuinely felt like the game was in tutorial mode to be honest and it felt like it took way longer to get it’s shit into high-gear compared to say Assassin’s Creed 2 which also had an overtly long introduction.
Once it finally opened up a bit it was fun but it took 5-6 hours for that to happen. There is a ton of content in the game but it sure takes it’s sweet time getting to it. Oh and the Naval battles are pretty fucking awesome.

I really prefer that. I love a slow start. The whole start of ACIII was absolutely brilliant, it really helps you getting into the story and atmosphere if you ask me. Compared to if they’d simply throw you in there. No, i highly prefer it like this.
