  • Resident Evil: Revelations 2 Raid Mode dance gestures are deadly

Why blind ‘em with science when you could kill ‘em with dance moves? revelations raid When I say Resident Evil: Revelations 2‘s Raid Mode dance gestures are deadly, I’m not being figurative. If you finish the first chapter of Revelations 2 you can unlock Gina for use in Raid Mode. All characters can use gestures […]

  • Dragon Age: Inquisition mod enables male Blackwall romance, terrific joke

“Male Inquisitors can now scale the wall,” says a clever Redditor. A new Dragon Age: Inquisition mod removes Blackwall’s romantic restrictions, allowing male Inquisitors to chat up the fuzzy-faced warrior. Blackwall doesn’t have any race preferences, so you’re good to go there. Dragon Age: Inquisition romance mods are pretty common by now, and to be […]

  • Destiny: it is possible to solo the Weekly Heroic

Destiny players willing to faff about with their system clock can solo the Weekly Nightfall if they prefer. The Weekly Heroic is one of Destiny‘s toughest challenges. • Bungie “always” looking at Exotic changes for Destiny updates

Destiny developer Bungie won’t stop tinkering with Exotic weapons. In Destiny, Exotic weapons are supposed to be the best of the best – and to feel unique. Guns like Ice Breaker and Gjallahorn definitely hit the mark there (although less so when everyone has one), but unfortunately, there are a few that just don’t strike […]

  • Is Uncharted 4′s first trailer a tribute to Crash Bandicoot?

Uncharted 4′s first proper trailer bears some remarkable similarities to the opening moments of a much earlier Naughty Dog game. Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End has more in common with Crash Bandicoot than you might think. It’s Naughty Dog’s first game on a new console, yes – but if you compare Uncharted 4′s E3 2014 […]

  • Stealth Inc. 2 coming to PSN, apparently

  • Destiny PvP rewards system to be addressed

Destiny developer Bungie has said it will change the way Crucible rewards work. Destiny players are always complaining about the perfidy of RNGesus, but there’s one area where it particularly hurts: the Crucible. PvP players often receive nothing at all for excellent performances, and sometimes Guardians receive the best drops merely for logging in as […]

Don’t look at the Meristation review. They had problems with Ubi and they are always trying to sabotage Ubi’s games, specially this saga.

    #1 2 years ago
  2. KAP

I wouldn’t call an 8.5 sabo, would you?

If Megan Fox honestly and truthfully rated you an 8.5 you’d have a spring in your step.

    #2 2 years ago
  3. Dave Cook

Yeah, 8.5 isn’t sabotage. It’s on par with the rest of the series imo.

    #3 2 years ago

8.5 is still very good for any game :) anyways cant wait to get my hands on this one more day to go :)

@4 Unfortunately for some gamers, anything less than 9/10 is garbage. It’s a sad world we live in.

Meristation review seems fair and balanced. I’d trust it more than the 10/10 ones.

yes,but to kill game score just for it have some bugs? or glitch? they gonna fix that, they allready fixing.
of course,it’s bad thing, but that is easy fixsible :)

I agree, this gen has been corrupted with sales and score ratings. It’s sad, but it’s the truth.

  9. Hirmetrium

@7: Go read any recent non-high profile release, and some of those too. Darksiders 2 got ripped for Bugs, as did Medal Of Honour. I’d say its fair game – release anything with something that stops progression or negatively impacts enjoyment of playing (say making an otherwise cool and well designed skill useless, like possession being unable to possess people in dishonoured) should be rated very harshly.

Also, Ubi’s QC is shocking IMO. Ghost Recon should of proved that. As does the Day 1 patch thread.

I always thought it was bollocks that games like Skyrim got such high scores when they should of ripped apart for their bugs. Granted its a huge game, but some of that shit just shouldn’t happen.

9,but it’s look funny to read reviews after 1 month then game is totaly clean :)

you want to say COD without bugs is better than AC3 with bugs? and they gonna fix soon everything.
COD is total crap game and for them does not help even game without bugs :)

For me less than ten games in whole gaming history are 10/10… I can’t understand why some reviewers are giving away this score so often and for games that are just “more” of the same :P Don’t get me wrong, ACIII will be awesome for sure. But it’s not something like Deus Ex or System Shock…

    #17 2 years ago
  18. Ireland Michael

@17 In its denfense, AC3 freshens things up almost as much as AC2 did for AC1.

But regardless of that, the reality is that most of these sites simply have an inflated scoring system where 7 = bad and anything under that doesn’t even exist. Why anyone would even bother to acknowledge those reviews is beyond me.

Although these are fantastic scores I’m actually a little surprised this hasn’t scored all 9s and 10s across the board after all the hype. There are plenty more to come of course but I was expecting higher with the incredibly over the top scores every game seems to get these days.

    #25 2 years ago
  26. Cozzy

Also, Dave I think you’ve missed “embargo” out where it says “the Assassin’s Creed III has now lifted”. :)

    #26 2 years ago
  27. Telepathic.Geometry

@5: You’re right Dave, it is sad, but the reality is that if you buy a game or two per month on average, you probably could dine on 9/10 games the whole way, that’s the level of quality and polish we have in games nowadays. You certainly wouldn’t need to go any lower than an 8.5 I don’t think…

…I know that’s an ugly way to think, especially considering little gems like Majin (72 on metacritic) would be eliminated, but there ya go…

This game is the biggest fucking shit this year. first 3-4 hours are linear tutorial stupid missions.

I played it for few hours and damn… This game is just the same game as the previous games in the series. Consoles can’t do much better than Assassins Creed 2.5

My PS3 barely can do 20-25 frames per second with such horrible visuals.

    #40 2 years ago
  41. TMRNetShark

    @40

And wasn’t that the console that had the most development time? XD

    #41 2 years ago
  42. Erthazus

@41, I think Xbox 360 version is fine because PS3 version was always not the best port in the series, but the real issue is that Assassins Creed 3 is the same game as before.

Nothing really changed. Enemies are stupid as always, platforming is not that good and everything else is just meh.

About visuals and art style. It’s simple. Assassins Creed 2 but without a lot of buildings and cities. There will be Boston though.
There is forest, farms… Our hero has the ability to travel now on trees but that is not different from the previous games. It’s the same thing but in the forest or in the field. ASS3 is nothing special.

@42 So just in general that Ubisoft is pulling an Activision…

We get it, gaming companies have reached their limits on the consoles. I wholeheartedly agree that this generation went on one (or even two) years too long. Developers have followed suit and kept the same engines to save money…

I knew this might have happened (was excited for the game)… but I knew it would turn out like the last 4 games. I never really liked any of them too much.

    40,you troll or just stupid?

AC3 game is about 40h and 3h is less than 10%,then COD single player is the same long and linear, scripted load of shit, and nobody cares about that, people buying, reviews are good :D

42,if we believe what you told us now,we can make desicion that 99% of the games are the same and nothing special :)

i personally never was into assassins creed. not at all. i usually like these kind of games but somehow it never clicked. i am not saying those are bad games tho, but watched some reviews now, think i will skip this game too. there´s halo 4 and epic mickey 3ds this months so it´s all good for me. greeat shooter and an awesome platformer. a great gaming month awaits me. maybe i will even keep my wiiu preorder. also still have to start and finish dishonored, so count ass creed out.

I’m only a hour in and i play very slowly, cause i check the details and explore around but so far i’m loving it. In terms of atmosphere, details, animations, graphics, it’s top notch. But i already fear for missions that probably won’t have seen much of a change. But we’ll see.

I’ve been playing it the entire day and the first 5-6 hours genuinely felt like the game was in tutorial mode to be honest and it felt like it took way longer to get it’s shit into high-gear compared to say Assassin’s Creed 2 which also had an overtly long introduction.

Once it finally opened up a bit it was fun but it took 5-6 hours for that to happen. There is a ton of content in the game but it sure takes it’s sweet time getting to it. Oh and the Naval battles are pretty fucking awesome.
