Cliff Bleszinski wants to “fix” Resident Evil

Gears of War creator Cliff Bleszinski isn’t too impressed with the latest Resident Evil games, it seems. In a much-shared tweet, the former Epic staffer asked Capcom to call him, so that they could “fix Resident Evil. Together”. Capcom UK took it in good humour, suggesting only that Bleszinski bring pizza, and the developer later noted that his original comment had been “cocky“.

Resident Evil 6 produced very mixed reviews, although I’m not sure handing over to a western developer is quite the answer fans are looking for. Bleszinski seems to have a number of ideas as to where his career might go next.

And so he was born. The fixer of franchises. He travels around the world with only one goal in mind, remaking the franchises in their sources’ image.

But Resident Evil already has too much action!, this S.O.B needs to mind his own business and STFU!. Resident Evil’s fix should be handled by me, anyone else will FUCK IT UP!.

Isn’t RE6 the best selling RE ever? Cliffy made the mistake to think like a gamer.

@5 I believe the over all sales of RE5 are far more, but 6 is selling really fast, only time will tell if it will out sell 5.

Nope, neither of those games are anything like the old Resident Evil games.

In some parts of the gameplay and items, maybe. But, if you (like me) have been playing the first RE and sense the horror (it’s survival horror, BTW) then you will knew what I mean. Especially with amnesia, that provide the sense of weakness and vulnerability with limited resources at hands (bullet, herb & ink ribbon for RE, oil & tinderboxes for Amnesia. Even both of them have the same limited and clunky mechanics like tank movement in RE or mouse gesture in Amnesia) I think both falls in the same category

Disagree. In Resident Evil you can protect yourself. You have the chance to kill, sometimes with huge ass weapons. And that’s fine, btw. as long as they keep the horror intact.

Amnesia doesn’t have any weapons. Everything in this game is building around your vulnerability. You can’t fight the monster, you can’t even look at it without risking your life.

You mean he wants to make Resident Evil a zombie game again?? How absurd! /sarcasm

Resident Evil stopped being good somewhere right after Nemesis.

They’ve even turned the movies into the same retarded BS the games have turned into.

Like I’ve said in my above post before, there’s some difference in gameplay and items, but the most important thing that remain the same between both games(like you’ve also said, and I agree with this), is keeping the horror intact. And I talk about the first RE here.

Maybe, if ‘huge ass weapon’s and the chance of fight back and kill your enemies’ are much more important, then the first Dead Space are much more appropriate for your criteria (although, IMO, the horror part are not quite the same level as the first RE or Amnesia)

My only problem with resident 5 and 6 is the coop gameplay, its just not scary because of coop, i say make a game in raccoon city with RES4/5s gameplay (without coop) and you have yourself a awesome game
