Halo 4 – “nothing’s even close” to sequel’s development cost
Halo 4 is the most expensive game Microsoft has ever produced.
Speaking with Polygon, Microsoft Studios head Phil Spencer said Halo is a $3 billion franchise.
He described it as the “most important entertainment product in the company” and when asked whether it was also the most expensive, answered: “Absolutely. Nothing’s even close.”
Although Spender didn’t give any indication of how much halo 4 has cost, Joystiq reports Halo 3 cost in the ballpark of $60 million, including marketing. The 2007 release became what was, to date, the fastest-selling game, with $300 million global sales in its first week.
Halo 4, apparently more expensive than this behemoth, is due on November 6, exclusively – of course – for Xbox 360.

Isn’t it about time this ‘Kuwabara’ alt troll account got retired?
It was amusing for a little while but it’s become seriously predictable and tedious now.
Whoever owns it, give it up please. Some of us would like to actually converse in Halo threads and this denial-of-service trolling prevents that.

And I agree with you on dust 514. I haven’t been as excited for a game for a long time as I am for dust. The concept is awesome and I believe ccp would make the best fps available for consoles. Eve universe is easily the best setting for a fps. No other game can match that imo.

@56, irk? call me what you like but atleast im honest with my facts. i would have stopped along time ago but i keep hearing how great the graphics are. That ” irs” me. Another thing that irs me is the money they spend on advertising and showing off cg cinematics yet can’t produce amazing graphics.

kuwabara: just google it yourself man, there´s no damn need to give you links to prove things with facts. i already tried but you are in denial. saying halo 4 isn´t a good looking game is just pure denial. what is there to proof. everyone with a healthy mind would agree about this.
i believe you are the kind of ps3 fan that doesn´t own a 360. if halo was on the ps3 you would praise the shit out of it for being the best shooter ever. trust me, you would and you know that. now be honest to yourself and don´t plaster your shit on here and then even complain if people call you out to be the mad man you obviously are…it´s pathetic.

@ 58 I’m not talking about gameplay and how good it does as a shooter, i said so called stunning graphics people seem to be dreaming about. So back your shit up. I already said the sky box looks good, but that’s it. I saw your vid. I personally think the explosions should look a lot better. And the textures and everything else looks ordinary. Nothing stunning though don’t you think? I won’t be buying an xbox for this because of the potential that could be made to this game isn’t quiet there. Even from what ive seen of the enemies and gameplay, i don’t see this at game of the year material. Only time will tell.
