I hope that after MoH fiasco this stupid modern military trend will disappear.

  3. karma

@2: Its not the aesthetic of the modern world setting that I have a problem with. Its the fact that its the same old linear, heavily scripted corridor shooting design that i’m utterly jaded on.

Very good scores, I’ve expected them to be worse :F

  5. ballz

  6. KAP

I called it, 6s an 7s and come next week and the week after slightly higher scores due to the scores prior its how it goes on the Internet these days.

  7. Edo

@2 ONLY thing that counts(unfortunately)is how much it will sell.

  8. powerbuoy

Tits. I just pre-ordered :P Oh well, I’ve heard good things about the MP from my YouTube subscriptions.

I wonder if EA will drop Danger Close before or after Christmas?

  10. SlayerGT

@5 While im not a fan of COD nor do I intend to buy Black Ops 2, at least they’re trying something new in the game play department. I’ll be curious to see it turns out for wise.

    #10 2 years ago
  11. NeoSquall

@10 >”COD” and “something new” in the same sentence.

    AHAHAHAHAHAH, oh boy.

    #11 2 years ago
  12. SlayerGT

    @11 Sounds silly I know :) we’ll see.

    #12 2 years ago
  13. polygem

if it will be anything like the beta they should be very very pleased with these scores. honestly. noone should support this trash. please do not buy it.

    #13 2 years ago
  14. M. K.

@5: Yep it’s absolutely the same, Shooters. But Blops 2 is the better game.

    #14 2 years ago
  15. polygem

    marihuana: whore fighter…
    that´d be something i´d probably buy….or….no.

  16. The_Red

Wow, I wasn’t expecting this. I wonder how many have based their opinion on the unpatched / shipped version (And rightfully so) and how many have given this score to the version with day one patch (Unfair and a bad practice).

    #16 2 years ago
  17. Da Man

This game must be amazing, since it isn’t as popular as CoD.

    It’s just misunderstood and niche.

We should support this poor underdog because we’re outnumbered by advertising victims.

    #17 2 years ago
  18. daytripper

As I suspected, waste of development time and money

    #18 2 years ago
  19. Hunam

My biggest problem with the game, other than the game seemingly being shit, it that it’s so pro war it’s stupid. When you start calling soldiers “Warriors” and “Warfighters” you are basically saying war is kinda cool because it makes bad ass people.

Then you have stuff like the upcoming Splinter Cell that is pretty much pro-GITMO.

    No thanks.

    #19 2 years ago
  20. SameeR_Fisher

wow these scores are way low, like really really low, maybe cause MoH is starting to look like CoD in a sense ?!

I had hopes for this game, but alas

    #20 2 years ago
  21. Da Man

Videogames shouldn’t be rated based on content, instead they should be reviewed according to how I want them to sell. I want this game to sell and don’t want CoD (wait, I still need CoD to sell to hate it).

It’s a great game, and all the reviews were bribed by Activision.

  22. CaptPierce

Sad to see it play out this way. I LOVED Medal of Honor in it’s Playstation and PS2 days; hell even Airborne was great! Hate how it had to go modern to chase a quick buck. I’ll pick this up when it’s $30 or so, but until then, lemme know when they go back to World War II again. I’d actually be RELIEVED to play one of those.

    #22 2 years ago
  23. Erthazus

@3, Yes, I agree with that too.

    #23 2 years ago
  24. loki

    crap like i always sad

    #24 2 years ago
  25. The_Red

Don’t know about PS2 MOH games but the original PS1 games were mostly made by the people behind COD1, COD2 and COD4 who are now at Respawn.

    #25 2 years ago
  26. Ali

Well, EA ,if you are not gonna shut the studio down, then put them to work on games like this . This is what they are good at's_Undying

    #26 2 years ago
  27. jayc4life

@16: EA didn’t send out review copies before the launch at all. So everyone, reviewers included, played with the Day 0 patch.

What I don’t know is, did they purposefully do that so they could review it with the patch, or did they delay sending the games out on purpose so they’d still get the Day 1 buys, knowing that it’d get rubbish scores?

    #27 2 years ago
  28. SlayerGT

    @21 me too

    #28 2 years ago
  29. K-V-C

@26 did you read the articale on IGN about EA re using the same football game not changing anything except the main menus. so yea id say EA were up to something

    #29 2 years ago
  30. Da Man

Don’t know about PS2 MOH games but the original PS1 games
There were no PS2 games, those were cut ports of PC MoH.

The PSX ones were made in collaboraton with Dreamworks.

    NG4 – 7 / 10

    #31 2 years ago
  32. MadFlavour

Those reviews scores seem accurate based on the first game in the series.

    #32 2 years ago
  33. MadFingerz

    5/10? ouch…

@2 For me a “linear, heavily scripted corridor shooting design” isn’t necessarily bad. One of my favorite FPS of all time (as it happens it’s MOH Frontline) was pretty straight forward but what made it great was the fast paced gameplay.

Developers have to realize that military shooters don’t need drama heavy scripts and Michael Bay set pieces, they can just be simple, gritty and fast pace.

MoH just don’t know what it wants to be. CoD has quick gameplay and silly over the top story. BF is all about “epicness”, vehicles, realism (ofc not ARMA style realism, but still…). And MoH is… In between. That’s not good.

But it’s just not that. For me, multiplayer is broken. Bugs, weird maps, and ugly interface. When I’m playing CoD I feel how the action flows, when I’m playing BF3 I feel the sense of big battles, when I played MoH:W I felt nothing :X

  35. KrazyKraut

    @Dave Cook
Do you think that the expectations were stupidly high again?
I wish I could answer this question, but my I copy will arrive next week so I have to wait. I am sure I will enjoy this game.

  36. Moonwalker1982

I’ve already bought the game today, expecting it tomorrow. I really liked the beta, the guns feel great, lots of weapons to unlock, great maps and nice responsive controls. If the game is like that, i’m fine! And i’m expecting exactly that of it. A short campaign is nothing new these days.

    #36 2 years ago
  37. manamana

    @9 spot on.

They ruined MoH for the quick buck. And the quick buck will come, when they start their advertiseorgasmagorian. Won’t ever pass CoD and probably no game will, GTA V aside.

    #37 2 years ago
  38. life28

most of reviewers didn´t play multiplayer, or just few rounds. So MP reviews can be +1 or 2 points higher.
    Another one

  39. Moonwalker1982

Exactly, that’s what i mean. Don’t know about anyone else, but what that reviewer writes about the multiplayer mode sounds great to me.

Maybe its time to reboot the reboot of MOH. ;)

I lasted about 20 minutes with the beta. Junk.

    #48 2 years ago
  49. NeoSquall

I hope that EA learns the lesson this time and definitively moves on from the dying console FPS market (whose only rule is “no COD = no sale”).

    #49 2 years ago
  50. pukem0n

    you are joking right?

Battlefield 3 sold well over 12m on consoles.

its not COD sell numbers, but still…

  51. xino

i played the game at the EGX…and I just didn’t like it!
i spent only 5-7mins playing and just up and left

    the game is dead…not exciting!
the recoil annoyed me the most
