Battlefield 3 patch to add colour grading console command

Monday, 22nd October 2012 03:45 GMT By Brenna Hillier

Battlefield 3 will allow advanced users to fiddle with colour grading as of the next patch, replacing an banned mod.

“There will be a console command for disabling the color grading entirely in the game included with the next PC game client update,” DICE’s Mikael Kalms wrote on the MordorHQ forum

Kalms said that DICE won’t be adding a menu option to switch off colour grading, because it can’t support “questions and bug reports regarding stuff that happens when color grading is disabled”.

He also noted that disabling colour grading “gives no major competitive advantage/disadvantage” although it does mean items like the IRNV scope won’t work any more “and will look real ugly”.

The option to disable colour grading is apparently in high demand; a recent mod which allowed it proved quite popular, but DICE warned that those using it would be banned.

LOL!! But DICE you’ve already made the IRNV scope useless!

Good to see something like this. The game looks washed out and over-saturated by lighting by default. Makes it really difficult for me to see anything.

I found it hilarious when I heard they caved over this after all the bullshit dice devs were spouting on twitter about the mod that scraped off the blue shit.

Now please just release mod tools after all the premium contents is out.

    Not anymore!

Thanks guys at Dice! Remember the other gradient changer is still banned! Not that they could really fidn out if your using it or not. So remember, 1. Ban non-gameplay changing mod. 2. State that you will release own version of it. 3. Never release said version and leave it as is.
