Star Trek Online Season 7 adding Gateway tool for PC, mobile & tablet

Star Trek Online's Season 7 update will add a new Gateway tool, an app that will initially offer stat tracking and information about your character via a plethora of devices, and will then expand further in subsequent updates. Developer Cryptic has detailed the app in a new dev blog.

The blog post refers to the Gateway as a tool that, "allows players to remotely access their in-game status information via their desktop, tablet, or smartphone"

The post continues, "In its initial release, the STO Gateway will allow players the ability to view their player status and equipped items, ship status and equipped items, bridge officer status and equipped items, and accolades. This list of features is only the beginning of what’s possible — there will be more features and functionality to come."

Cryptic confirms that the app is not available in-game, but rather as a companion app, and will grow over time to include actual functionality with the core game.
