Pikmin 3 release window confirmed as ‘Spring 2013′

Pikmin 3 has previously been billed as a ‘launch window’ title on Wii U in the States, meaning it will launch before March 31st. New information from Nintendo’s recent ‘Iwata Asks’ panel narrows down the clues a little.

Nintendo Life reports that during the ‘Iwata Asks’ panel, Pikmin 3′s release window was stated as ‘Spring 2013′.

The site correctly points out that March 31st is eleven days into Spring, so this suggests the game will launch at the end of March. Take this as speculation for the time being, but it’s nice to see Nintendo thinking about when it’s going to launch the game.

On one hand iam sad hearing this, i think they need the most of games they can at launch especially one killer app, and i think this game will fit this nicely, but on the other hand iam quite happy one less game to get this chritsmas, because i have quite a long list of vita and WiiU games to get, besides the consoles themselves, adding to ps3,360 and 3DS titles, iam quite full to say the least this christmas, so no biggy here.

I played it at a game event recently and i wasn’t familiar with Pikmin and this one really surprised me. If i ever decide to get a Wii U, i will get that game.

#5 yes is the nintendo take on a RTS game, i mean a good RTS with the nintendo touch, the first two games were great, i think this one will not dissapoint either, you know if theres one game that i wouldnt mind the realistic graphics, is this one, if just the game would look like the picture above, it will be even cuttier and prettier, i think realisitc graphics will work great on some nintendo franchises, or in other fantasy (childlike worlds) developers out there (rayman etc).

I got a chance to play this at Eurogamer Expo briefly.

Sadly the tablet wasn’t hooked up for play and I had to use a wii-mote. The tablet screen just showed a basic map display.

It played and looked like the first two, no bad thing. My only problem is that this is the only game I want to play on that system.
