  • Black Ops 2 season pass outed, £34.99 for 4 map packs
  • Activision Publishing CEO, Eric Hirshberg said of the switch to Call of Duty: Elite free, “We’ve learned a lot in our first year of Call of Duty Elite, and we’re very proud that we over delivered on our commitment of playable content to our premium members.”

“What we have realised is that several of the Call of Duty Elite services which are currently only available to our premium members for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 are things that would further unite, engage and delight our player community. So we are going to make them free for Call of Duty: Black Ops II.”

Um… So Elite will launch on PC finally? Or it’s just free and fun but still only for console versions of the game?

I doubt the map packs/game modes/weapons etc will be free for everyone, just the features in the elite thing itself.

@6 – Well, it wasn’t so long ago… All maps for World at War were free. People just want to play more of the game, that’s why they buy maps. Simply.

Personally, I’ve never bought any mappack in any game ;p
